Amway Labs Pilot Learnings

Problem: After running a 6-month proof of concept pilot for the Amway Labs concept in Hong Kong, we had over 70 insights worth sharing with the Amway global leadership team. We were challenged with how to make our learnings presentation concise and yet broadly applicable to what each of the highest function heads were working on.

Solution: Highlight our assumptions in each of our five learnings categories and outline our recommendation for how we should design the Amway of the future in light of what we learned.

Method: 70 insights were organized under the 5 learning categories, and were summarized into a from-to statement for each learning category. Secondary themes were identified and visual frameworks both simplified and clarified the key distinctions. We identified hero stories for each secondary theme to be shared verbally.

Outcome: The initial executive presentation went so well, we immediately had direct reports asking for time with us. Because the presentation was organized into broad buckets and kept at a very high level, we were able to focus our conversation with function heads on telling stories from the field relevant to each leaders’ division. Our learnings were essential to the design of the A70 strategy, Amway’s 10-year strategic plan and led to the kick-off of the Simplified Wellness Incubator.
