Sustainability Survey

Problem: An internal team was tasked with translating a corporate sustainability strategy into an Innovation & Science Division implementation and they team saw two big barriers: first, they were uncertain of how educated the group was on sustainability best practices, and second, they wanted the broad buy-in for the way the strategy was implemented.

Solution: Design a survey for Innovation & Science Division employees that will quickly give the team a pulse on how employees think about sustainability.

Method: The 8-question survey started by understanding employees’ framework for sustainability–what did it mean to them, which companies were doing it well and what was their personal desire to be part of sustainability efforts? The second half of the survey collected ideas and identified barriers to sustainable practices.

Outcome: Over 200 employee-led ideas surfaced and the survey identified a desire among employees for greater education opportunities on the topic.
